I Saw That Dream One Night

I saw a dream one night,
A dream that felt so right,
A dream that gave me the guiding light,

There we were on the sands,
Talking as we held our hands.
Being with you made my world so bright,
When i saw that dream one night.

I could spend my entire life with you,
I knew you felt it too.
Seeing my future so bright, I knew everything was right,

Then came mom to wake me up,
Not seeing you around literally shook me up,
There lay my dream on the floor
shattered like the remnants of a broken glass door,
I sat up straight on my bed,

Suddenly I began to cry.
Asking myself why, why did I have to dream a dream
that could come true only in my dreams!
Now, I cry everyday, I cry every night,
When I see you in my dream
like I saw the dream that night.

I cry when i see you holding hands with her,
Smiling for her and laughing for her,
Giving all your love to her,
When I know it belongs to me and it is mine.
